The Beginning

We’re a husband (Matt) and wife (Brandy) who ride together. Well… I ride, and she sits on the back as the ultimate Passenger Princess.

Most of our adventures revolve around two-up motorcycle touring across North Dakota and beyond.

It has its advantages. She feeds me snacks while we roll down the road, and I do my best to make sure she’s comfortable back there — though that doesn’t always go according to plan. Her primary responsibility is documenting the ride by taking photos of the scenery as we pass by… but that only happens when she isn’t napping or scrolling her phone.

Bad Attitude on 2 Wheels started as nothing more than an Instagram page to share photos and video clips of our motorcycle rides around North Dakota. We ride mostly solo because we’re not interested in being on someone else’s schedule or riding to places we don’t care about. That’s not to say we won’t ride with groups — they just have to align with what we’re into.

You might see us cruising quiet county roads, flying down the interstate, or rolling with a group during a charity ride. Because we both have regular jobs, most of our riding happens on weekends. Some days it’s a relaxed 50-mile ride. Other days it’s 200 miles just because we felt like chasing the horizon.

This blog came later. I’ll be honest — I’m terrible at making and editing videos (even though I own an Insta360), so YouTube wasn’t happening anytime soon. Writing, though? That felt doable. So here we are.

Why “Bad Attitude on 2 Wheels”?

Mostly because life has a way of putting me in a mood.

Large groups irritate me. I think most people can’t drive. The oilfield lifestyle takes its toll. And sometimes life just grinds on you a little.

But riding fixes that.

Throw a leg over the bike, hit the open road, and suddenly the noise quiets down. It’s therapy at 70 mph.

So if you’re into two-up motorcycle touring, real-world gear reviews, North Dakota backroads, and honest opinions — welcome.

If not? That’s fine too.

We’ll be out riding either way.
